Caves spots in Costa Brava
Without exaggeration, this is one of the most stunning coastlines near Barcelona. You can get there in under an hour and a half, and the change in scenery is breathtaking. The terrain ranges from rocky, pine-covered coasts with small coves, coarse sand, and crystal-clear water to a more arid, rocky, and windy coastline like Cap de Creus. Forget endless beaches: here, it's all coves, paths leading down to the shore, and trails hugging the sea. Many coves require a 10-20 minute walk to reach, which significantly limits the number of visitors. The area encompasses wild, rugged landscapes like Cap de Creus, with its drier, lunar-like, and windy scenery, as well as more pleasant areas like Begur, Tamariu, and Calella de Palafrugell. There isn't a main town per se, but rather many small villages; it's common to stay in one and explore from there. There's a tourist tax per night, as in the rest of Catalonia. The atmosphere in summer is lively, with a young crowd, making it ideal for groups of friends and couples. The Costa Brava is famous for its nightlife, stretching from Platja d'Aro to Pals.
