Isla de los Pajaros

This is a rocky island in the middle of the Beagle Channel, off the coast of Ushuaia, with large colonies of imperial and king cormorants, as well as seagulls. It's the first stop on the Beagle Channel cruise; the boat only lingers around it for a few minutes, and you don't disembark. It's a stop along the way, as the ultimate goal is to see the penguins.

This catamaran is very touristy and crowded, but it's the cheapest cruise on the Beagle Channel, and I think it's essential to take it once you reach this far south (although you can enjoy the views peacefully throughout the trip, as everyone is seated). Other, more expensive but better options are to go to Cape Horn and back. It has two other stops: the Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse and the penguin colony on Isla Martillo.
