Laguna Base Torres
It's the most iconic spot in the Torres del Paine massif. We came across the lagoon, with views of the main face of the granite towers, and it's a spectacular and unique landscape.
It gets quite crowded, as it's one of the most famous spots in the mountaineering world, and many people come for a day hike and don't do the entire W trek. Even so, it's 100% worth it, as you can find your own space to sit and enjoy the views in peace.
If we're doing the W trek, this is the first day's hike, starting from the Central Campsite (we can leave our backpacks in a room, taking only the essentials) and returning there to sleep. The views throughout the entire route are beautiful.
