Matapalo Beach
Probably the wildest and most spectacular beach in Costa Rica. It's in a very remote area, near Corcovado National Park, where hardly anyone goes, and it shows: jungle right up against the sea with zero crowds. The sheer number of animals you can see is astounding: all kinds of monkeys, spiders, and countless other creatures.
The surfing here is excellent, and the best part is that you'll often be practically alone in the water, something very rare in Costa Rica.
