Komodo Island
The main island of Komodo National Park. You come here for one thing: to see dragons in the wild. It's a pretty wild, dry environment with intense heat that beats down all day.
It's quite striking to see them in their natural habitat, completely calm but aware of their nature. The landscape is very arid, with hills and dry vegetation, very different from the typical image of Indonesia.
You also pass through the local village, which is quite basic. Life there is very simple and with few resources, something that's quite surprising when you see it firsthand.
