Termas de Altyn Arashan
These natural hot springs are the perfect end to the entire trek from Forest Gate Karakol to Ala-Kul Lake, Ala-Kul Pass, and on to Altyn Arashan.
However, we recommend not going straight there upon arrival. After a full day of hiking, you'll be quite tired, and Altyn Arashan is vast, with various camps and yurt areas scattered throughout the valley. It's best to know exactly which camp you'll be staying at before starting your trek, go directly there, have dinner, and rest.
The following morning, at a more leisurely pace, you can visit these natural hot springs by the river. They're relatively unknown, situated in a stunning setting, and the water is warm but not as scorching as some other hot springs found in Kyrgyzstan. Perfect for soothing your legs after the previous day's exertions.
