Cascada Alto Chorro - Klosay
It's not just a waterfall. Klosay is a community-based ecotourism project managed by the Ngäbe-Buglé indigenous community, where the income directly benefits local families and contributes to forest conservation. It's a series of waterfalls and natural pools. The trail winds through rainforest and takes 1 hour and 30 minutes, following streams and passing through crystal-clear natural pools, making the hike an integral part of the experience.
Entry is not permitted without authorization. Access is controlled by the community and must be undertaken with an authorized local guide. It's a cultural experience as well as a natural one. During the tour, guides share knowledge about medicinal plants, the history of the community, and its relationship with the forest, making the visit much more than just the scenery.
Visiting Klosay is not simply going to a waterfall; it's venturing into a virtually untouched rainforest and experiencing authentic life alongside the Ngäbe-Buglé community, where tourism becomes a tool for conserving nature and strengthening local culture.
