Lagoa das 25 Fontes
One of Madeira's coolest waterfalls. You arrive after walking along levadas, always with the water beside you, through a lush green landscape that looks like something out of Jurassic Park. The surroundings change considerably as you go, and finally you find yourself in front of a wall covered in tiny jets of water cascading into the pool below, which is what gives it the name 25 Fontes (25 Fountains). More than the final destination, the beautiful part is the entire journey to get there.
