Ojos del Diablo
Known as the Ojos del Diablo (Devil's Eyes) for its two stone arches shaped like eyes opening directly onto the Cantabrian Sea. The hike starts from the Playa de Sonabia car park and it's stunning from minute one: you gain height along a path that ridges up the mountain, with constant views of the beach right below. The wildest part comes at the top. At the summit the landscape changes completely: a huge, open green meadow sitting about 500 metres up, ending in a cliff over the sea. From there the Ojos del Diablo appear, set into the cliff face.
