Forau d'Aigualluts

The Forau de Aigüallut is undoubtedly one of the most impressive spots in the area. The waterfall, formed by the Ésera River, plunges powerfully, creating a stunning scene high in the mountains.

But it's not just the waterfall. Above, before the water plunges, lie the Llanos de Aigüallut, where the river meanders through open meadows with a vast landscape all around. It's a beautiful place for a leisurely walk and to enjoy the surroundings from above.
You can also approach the side and descend to the base of the waterfall. From below, the water is much more impressive, and the perspective changes completely. It's worth seeing it from both vantage points.
Furthermore, it's a strategic location for further exploration: from here you can continue towards the Renclusa refuge or cross into Catalonia via the Collado del Toro pass if you'd like to extend your route.
It's quite popular in the summer, but it's much more enjoyable off-season. In September and October, for example, you can find plenty of peace and quiet.
