Wategos Beach
This beach is located a little further north of Byron Bay, within the area of the small development above, though not the very northernmost point.
It's a pretty top-notch beach because it has crystal-clear water and a sandy area where you can relax. There's also a rocky section, but overall the place is very nice. It's not usually as crowded as the main Byron Bay beach, so it's much quieter.
On the right side of the beach, there's a good surf break that extends all the way to the beach above, Little Wategos Beach. It's a wave that works quite well along the peak, so you can surf it well if you're skilled, or simply enjoy the atmosphere from the shore.
It's a very accessible beach and much more "quiet" than the main beaches in Byron. In that sense, it feels more pleasant for spending time.
