Salar de Aguas Calientes I
The Aguas Calientes Salt Flat I is a fairly accessible viewpoint, right next to the main road in this high-altitude region. Although it's easy to get to, it's not usually visited by tours, so it tends to be quite empty.
The views aren't as dramatic as at other salt flats in the area, but the surroundings more than make up for it: vast salt plains, mountains in the background, and plenty of wildlife. It's quite common to see vicuñas very close, even just a few meters away.
It's located at around 4,300 meters above sea level, and although it's easy to reach, the road passes through higher areas, so acclimatization is important.
