Peñalara Summit
The highest summit in Madrid and in the whole Central System. A total classic of the Sierra de Guadarrama. The route isn't very demanding, but watch out for the weather: wind, cold or fog can turn an easy path into something quite a bit more serious. There are several paths to go up, so you can adapt the route according to the day's plan. It has parking for quite a few vehicles; during the week there's usually no problem, but if you come at the weekend and don't get up early you probably won't even be able to go up.
