Irutzun Beach
Irutzun beach is one of the most spectacular on the Basque coast. Nestled between towering cliffs with sheet-like rock formations that extend along the shore, it's surrounded by green meadows, creating a very natural and relatively undeveloped environment. The waves are usually quite strong (as is typical of the north of Spain), although they tend to be calmer in the summer, when you'll find many beginner surfers. In winter, the waves get bigger.
Access is easy, and while it's not overcrowded, it's not a deserted beach either; it even has a bar-restaurant. At low tide, the beach opens up considerably, becoming even more breathtaking as you can see even more of the giant rocks that follow the cliffs.
