Mirador Bajo Glaciar Exploradores
The Exploradores Glacier Lower Platform is located within Laguna San Rafael National Park and serves as the lower viewpoint overlooking the Exploradores Glacier.
Instead of ascending as on the upper platform, the path here remains closer to the glacier, skirting its lower edge. Eventually, you reach an open platform offering a much more direct and intimate view of the ice.
For many, it's even better than the upper platform because you're closer to the glacier, and the landscape feels cleaner and more direct.
From here, you can still see the entire glacial tongue descending from the Northern Patagonian Ice Field, as well as views of Mount San Valentín, which dominates the entire area.
The surrounding environment remains the same Exploradores ecosystem, with humid forest, moraines, and areas where the glacier's retreat is clearly visible.
