Mirador Laguna de Aguas Calientes I
The Aguas Calientes Lagoon I viewpoint is located just past the Aguas Calientes Salt Flat I, right on the high plateau highway. Here, the landscape changes considerably compared to the previous salt flats, because it's no longer just salt and sand: a large body of water appears, giving it a different color and a different kind of view.
It's a spot where you're quite close to the lagoon, as it's directly accessible from the road, without having to walk far. It's closer than other viewpoints in the area.
It's at about 4,200 meters, so even though it's easy to stop, you're already at a high altitude, and you'll notice it throughout this route.
