Laguna Miscanti
Laguna Miscanti is the first of two high-altitude lakes in the Socaire area, along with Laguna Miñiques. They sit at an altitude of approximately 4,200 meters, and the surrounding landscape is quite different from other salt flats in the Atacama Desert.
Here you won't find the turquoise water so typical of other lakes, but rather a more high-altitude landscape, with darker water and surrounding mountains. It's not as "stunning" as Piedras Rojas, but it has its own unique character, and the surrounding area is vast and open.
