Vado Río Putana

The Putana River is a lively stretch of valley within the Machuca area, before reaching the Tatio Geysers. It's a place where the river creates a beautiful landscape against the backdrop of the drier highlands.
There's abundant vegetation around the water, which means you'll see a lot of wildlife: birds everywhere, small foxes if you're lucky, and generally a lot of activity compared to other, more arid parts of the route, all set against the backdrop of the volcanoes.
It's a place where you can stop, sit for a while at the small viewpoint, and simply observe what's happening around you without needing to do much else.
