Cruz Papal
The Cruz Papal viewpoint is a simple lookout point near San Pedro de Atacama, good for watching the sunset from an elevated area overlooking the Valley of Mars.
The spot is on a small hill accessible by car, so you can drive almost all the way up and stay there without much trouble. The views are nice and it's a comfortable place to stop for a while, but the sunset isn't fully visible because the terrain itself blocks part of the horizon. Therefore, it's more of an alternative viewpoint or a place to change your plans rather than a main attraction.
