Mirador Likan-Antay
The Likan Antai viewpoint is one of the most convenient spots near San Pedro de Atacama to watch the sunset without much effort. It's located on a high rocky outcrop with direct views of the Valley of the Moon below, creating a spectacular display of colors at sunset.
It's quite simple: you park by the side of the road and in a few minutes' walk you're already at the top of the rocks. You can sit right on the edge of the viewpoint or stay in safer areas a little further back if you don't want the sheer drop in front of you.
It's a very popular way to end the day in San Pedro, but it remains a favorite because the spot is convenient, quick, and offers great views. After sunset, the viewpoint is also a popular spot for stargazing, as it's very close to town and you don't need to travel far.
