Laguna los Tres
Laguna de los Tres is the most iconic trek in El Chaltén, and the endpoint leaves you right in front of Mount Fitz Roy and all its granite peaks.
The lagoon itself is quite large and, depending on the time of year, can be completely thawed or frozen solid during the colder months. In those cases, you can even walk on the ice if it's in good condition.
The most special moment is sunrise from the top: when the first rays of sunlight appear, the entire Fitz Roy massif is bathed in orange for a few minutes, creating a striking contrast with the granite. It's one of the most famous sights in all of Patagonia.
Right next to it is also the turnoff to the Laguna Sucia viewpoint, which you can climb in a little extra time and is well worth it if you have the energy.
